Pensive is an interactive installation inspired by the toilet scene from the classic film Transpotting.

Pensieve collects the images of my friends. The images only appear when the viewers are super close to the toilet bowl. It represents the wildest time of us struggling, being confused with life choices together.

I got the name “Pensieve” from movie Happy Potter. I like the interaction that people looking back on their lives streaming in front of them.

This is how I filmed the underwater faces.

I hide infrared sensor on the edge to detect if people approach the toilet bowl or not.

I seal the toilet and pour water inside. (I add some milk to make the water dense and white for the best result of projection.)
